Trip Report (Revolves around the Cubs)

I enjoyed reading some of these in the past so I thought I%26#39;d add mine.

I was in Chicago Tuesday June 12 and left that Sunday morning.

Tuesday: Checked into Old Chicago Inn on Sheffied. l was leary of this place but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Around 5 I headed up Clarke and went to a few bars. Got to the bleachers at 6. Stayed for all 13 innings. Man was that long. Went to a couple bars afterwards then went back to the room.

Wednesday: Went Boston Blackies for Lunch. Excellant burger. I then went to Michigan Ave. and got a few shirts. Just before the game I went to a Giordanos that was around the corner from my room. Once again headed to a few bars on Clarke. Headed to the bleachers around 6. I met some people in the bleachers and we played the Cup game. I ended up winning 40 dollars. Headed to Hi-tops after the game with my winnings. After Hi-tops went to the Wild Hare.

Thursday: Was kind off a rough morning so I went straight to Wrigley. (Again the Bleachers) Met a fan from Seattle. Who came all the way from Seattle for the game. Headed up to Sluggers after the game. I had reservations at Salpicón. Very nice restarunt and good food. After this I went to PS Chicago,Elm Street Liquors and ended up at the Hangge Uppe. The hangge uppe was my favorite.

Friday: Once again had a lot to drink the previous day so went straight to the ball park. (once again the bleachers) After the game went back to my room and relaxed until Saturday morning.

Saturday: Sat in the bleachers for my final game. Even though the Cubs lost this game was my favorite. A no hitter into the 8th for Zambrano and bench clearing brawl. I met some people who I later hung out with at Casey Morans. I had reservations at Carmines on Rush. They also had great food. The service was excellent too. It seemed I had my food 5 to 10 minutes after I orderd it. It was fast. I drank a lot after the game so I just went back to my room and slept until Sunday.

Sunday: Left for Iowa.

Had a great time. Next year I think I need to pace myself at the beginning of the week so I am not so tired to stay up late on Friday and Saturday.

Trip Report (Revolves around the Cubs)

One of the great things about going to a game at Wrigley is visiting and getting to know the people sitting around you.

Once I had four infield club box seats right behind the plate (work perk) and only two of my three friends made it to the game. I gave the remaining ticket (for free) to a gent from London who was looking for a single seat ticket outside Wrigley. We all spent the afternoon visiting - and the plate ump came over to say hello to us as well.

Apparently, he was so happy that anyone would be giving away for free such a great seat, he provided us with liquid refreshment for the entire afternoon. A nice exchange, we thought!
