coming to Chicago the first weekend of Aug to see the Mets play at Wrigley. Where should I stay that is easy to get there. When my parents went there years ago they stayed at the Days Inn near the Lake. Is that still a good choice

What dates are you staying exactly and what is your max budget? I%26#39;d be happy to help, but need more info.
hotel or motel help
If you want to be within walking distance, the closest hotel is the Best Western Hawthorne. Kinda cheesy furnishings, I think, but it gets OK reviews on this site. The Days Inn Lincoln Park is still an OK choice too...again, cookie cutter hotel, but in a great neighborhood. It%26#39;s a lot farther away from Wrigley tho...but right by the Clark bus, so if you take that, it%26#39;s 10 minutes away. I like the Majestic at Belmont and the Lake. Great neighborhood and and much nicer rooms, in my mind.There%26#39;s also the City Suites, which is really cool looking, tho many complain of el noise (it%26#39;s right next to the train...I think it depends
a lot on where your room is).
Bottom line, if you can find a great deal, any are acceptable. And if you can find a better deal downtown, I%26#39;d take that, because Wrigley Field is a 20 minute el ride away from any of the red line stops and the train lets you off right in front of the park.
Have fun.
I believe my parents did that and took the train to the game. 20 min
is not a long ride. Have to go to AAA tomorrow and look for hotels
tks
