Is Forest Park a good area to live for a 25er?

I%26#39;ve still been checking for places to live and found a few spots in Forest Park and Oak Park. Im debating these because they are just closer to the job (Hines). Is there enough nightlife here for a 25er. I%26#39;d think about the city but i have to be at work at 6am and really just want someplace close but not dead.

Go with Oak Park- Forest Park is okay but when I think of a more happening spot I would think Oak Park

Foxy, I%26#39;m telling you West Loop, your only a few exits away from Oak Park, 5 minute driving time at the most.... There is barely any night life out in Oak Park.

Yes, however only part of Forest Park has to good night life. Try the Madison ave bar district. Not bad, and even some of my friends from the city have enjoyed a night out there. The FP side of Madison is more bars and resturants and the Oak Park side is very trendy.

nicinich (hope I spelled that right) What neighborhoods should I be looking in if I was looking to move in the west loop?

nicinichic- are these the neighborhoods you are talking about? Bucktown, Wicker Park, East Village, Logan Square, Ukrainian Village, Humboldt Park, River West, West Town?

This searching for housing online is garbage. Especially when you%26#39;ve never been to the place. Soooo if this aint%26#39; what you talking about, please help a sista out.

thanks,

If I could get a response from anyone on this topic I would really appreciate it.

Thanks foxy

Go to www.chicagoreader.com and then go to apartments, then city west and you will see west loop listed, it%26#39;s near greektown on the west side of the loop, which puts you right on 290 (eisenhower). You should be at work within half an hour, I even used to take Ogden on Fridays coming home, to avoid the highway. You are going to love living in this neighborhood, so much to do, and public transportation on the weekends. Actually, Ukraniun Village wouldn%26#39;t be bad either, but still gentrifying a bit.

I agree with nicinchic.... I don%26#39;t know much of the city, but my friend lives in that area, it is pretty nice there and lots to do.

Forest Park is a good, and usually economically smart, choice. It also has a lively bar scene on Madison St.

By the way - for Hines, don%26#39;t overlook North Riverside - there are many good apartments there and it%26#39;s a convenient location for the hospital.
