I am going to be visiting my boyfriend from michigan this weekend... He just moved to Schaumburg a month ago.
We are going to be coming downtown on saturday and I have a few questions... Any advise on if we should drive into the city and pay to park or if we should take the train in (the metra I believe)?
Also we have both already been to chicago and done the touristy things like museums and such.... other than that can anyone give me some advise on what to do that%26#39;s not so touristy?
Any cool shops or resturants wound be cool... we want to visit the bean...

Parking is expensive here. Metra%26#39;s your best bet, assuming the weekend schedule is convenient for you. Metrarail.com for the details. The Metra weekend fare is a good deal.
The bean at Millenium Park is very cool. Take a look at metromix.com for other ideas of things to do this weekend. You can also do dining searches there and at chicagoreader.com.

You might want to check out one of the neighborhood festivals. This weekend is Taste of Randolph. Take a look at metromix.com and click on events for details.
Look carefully at the train schedules, and decide if you want to constrain your visit accordingly. Service on the Saturday is once every hour or every two hours. You can park right under Millennium Park or nearby; if you take the train you have a 3/4 mile walk from Union Station to the park.
But... it%26#39;s a nice walk if it%26#39;s a nice day... the train would be cheaper: it will cost you $5 round trip per person, versus ~$20 to park + your $3+/gallon gas.
